AHAHAHAHAH.

Calvin was hilarious. Actually, I’m kinda recalling right now his fascination with archaeology (kids and digging in the mud, awww)

Gotta go hunt up those comics. ^.^

QuestionWHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET? Answer

A LOT of places, hopefully :) Hard to answer with just one.

Currently, if you ask which is my “most” wanted place to visit, maybe immediately…I’d alternate between Africa (as many places as possible) and Russia (which is big enough to be a continent by itself, eh?)

MY LIFE.

Or maybe not, eh? Who knows? ;)

QuestionI saw your post about studying anthro for a job, even though you didn't major exactly in it. I'm curious, what sort of job it is and what it entails? Anthropology jobs, I'm told, are rare! Answer

Well, its not actually a job which would involve the use of anthropology…much. I’m applying for a job in the civil services..basically to become a bureaucrat/diplomat. Not exactly an anthropology job, but I will hopefully have all kinds of interactions with indigenous people and tribes. :)

Switching track. Starting with social anthropology instead of physical. Much easier.

Studying Physical Anthropology=mind blown=existential crisis

Oh genetics jokes, how they make me chuckle.

Ok. THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING ALL DAY!! XD

"They wanted to view and discuss intriguing mutants and lovely flowers, so they did not appreciate his numerical analyses."

My Genetics textbooks, on the reception of Mendel’s landmark paper. (via neornithes)

Funniest thing all day.

The MIT online material on Anthropology. Thinking of starting with the Introduction to Anthropology (undergraduate) course.

I wish I could say I’m studying Anthropology for a University degree, or at least as a small contribution to it. But I’m done with University (Physics, with honours) and now I’m taking up the study of Anthropology to clear an exam which will help me get a job.

It’s a nice job to study for. But I’m trying not to think too much about it. I’m trying to concentrate and enjoy the subject for what it is. Not to just answer a bunch of questions to secure marks.

In any case, I’ll need a teacher. There are about 4 ads in the newspaper today. Two are too far away. One I’ve already visited. Maybe I’ll go visit the 4th one today.

Seems like a lot, honestly. Gonna start with the NCERT’s and Ember & Ember, which seems to be universally recommended.
